“Fight Gone Bad”

In this workout you move from each of five stations after a minute. This is a five-minute round from which a one-minute break is allowed before repeating. Complete 3 rounds. The stations are:

WallBall: 20/14lb ball, 10 ft target.
Sumo deadlift high-pull: 75/55lb
Box Jump: 20″ box
Push-press: 75/55lb
Row for calories

The clock does not reset or stop between exercises. On call of “rotate,” athletes must move to the next station immediately. One point is given for each rep. Post scores to Comments. Compare scores to 9/13/12.

NOW THATS GYM ENTERTAINMENT!!! Below is an excerpt from a January 6th KY3 story entitled, “Legislator plans battle over ‘entertainment’ tax on gym memberships, yoga classes, AND target shooting”

“Meantime, on a federal level, you can’t deduct a gym membership as a medical expense. The IRS says the cost of a gym membership is for business, pleasure, or other social purposes and is not related to a particular medical condition.” ~ Paul Adler, KY3 News

OHHHHH snap! Fight Gone Bad!!! Thanks, Jeremy!!!

I tried to read the second article, but the link you posted goes back to the KY3 story. Either way, my thoughts on the tax are this: COME ON!!!! What BS! Seriously??? Obesity rates at all time highs – are directly related to serious health problems, and health expenses…let’s rally to get a tax DEDUCTION for staying healthy and not bleeding the healthcare system!!!

    Taxes suck.

  2. Kathyb Said,

I remember seeing awhile back that new York was offering their people a health care dedction in rates if they were active work outers (yes I know that’s not proper English) I agree kt, penalize us for living longer?! They will tax u for being good and tax u for being bad. I honestly stay out of most politics because it frustrates me so bad and I feel they are gonna do what they wanna do in the end. :(

  4. Chan R Said,

Tax fast food! It’s like a recreational sport for some and a form of entertainment. Looking forward to getting back to town and my first FGB!

  5. Brian Rice Said,

Taxing our workouts. Just another way for the govt. to get our money. I think with the US fighting obesity rates, taxing workouts isn’t smart, but they are going to do what they want. I’m like Kathy, don’t follow politics very much cause of stuff like this. The man keeping us down ;-)

It makes sense to offer credits for gym memberships and would let people use this as a tax deduction. But it looks like that isn’t going to happen.

On too today. FGB. Nice :-)
Days like today have alot of energy.
If you haven’t done FGB, don’t miss out.

  6. Donna G Said,

Lots of energy spent this morning. FGB is hard but fun. Great job Lexie at 6 am! Great to have you to partner with. Didn’t do as many reps as last time but did all RX except the wall balls where last time was really, really scaled! So improved. Marking my 1 year anniversary with Crossfit! It is a great journey! Thanks Leslie.

  8. Chance Said,

Donna you are doing great and never let your mind take you elsewhere. Our beliefs determine our behavior. Congratulations on a great first year! Most don’t even look at the mountain with a desire to climb it (rather they take pictures). Most don’t take that first step to climb that mountain. You did! Many people give up, make excuses, and accept mediocrity if not worse. You are a strong and amazing women and show that in Crossfit. I am sure that you do elsewhere as well, but we all have room to grow. So, know it, believe it, and conquer it… whatever it is!!

  11. B Rice Said,

Little frustrated with my FGB. 340rx. Not complaining, but left some out there today. Crossfit is hard and KT still beat me today. Damn. ;-)

Great effort Jason. You killed it.

Also Bill Abbott. Great job brother. You work harder than any guy I know out there.

Too many shout outs to make tonight. I however got my rear end whooped for 15 min. No wonder the former champ BJ Penn coined it a fight gone BAD!

Fun WOD. 334 RX, first time doing FGB. Really feel it in my shoulders today! Looking forward to the next one.

  16. Bill Abbott Said,

Thought I had 327RX, math rechecked by Donald Adkins showed 289…I still suck and so does DA for bursting my bubble! Oh well, I gave it my best and left nut’n in da tank! Thanks for the bro love, B. Rice! You and the rest of the 4P southeast corner set the bar pretty high…just trying to keep it respectable!

Posted on January 11th, 2013 at 8:53 am

  17. Donald Said,

Bill….definitely wasn’t trying to burst your bubble I know you really want to know what you really got especially for next time you do it and when I saw your sheet saying you got 137 in the second round I was very curious how that happened. Not to question your abilities brother because I second B Rice you work your a$$ off and 289 Rx is a dang good score you should be proud
