W.O.D Monday 7/26/10
For time:
3,6,9,12,15,18,21 Rounds of SDHP, 115/75lb. In between each set, perform 20 “Bastard Sit Ups” (description below)
Post times to Comments.
The “Bastard Sit-Up”: Keep your feet flat on the ground and slowly reach straight toward the ceiling – do not use momentum, this is a grind.
WHAT A WEEKEND!!!
Starting with Saturday’s morning’s ”Plate Movin’/Walking Lunge/WallBall WOD”…
…Then to the Wistrom’s for Jessi’s baby shower and pool party where Ashley managed to reel in the elusive “Wyatt-shark”…
…and finishing up yesterday with Shanna’s baby shower and WOD, aptly titled “Jaxx”! A great time was had by all! Thanks so much to all those who were able to make it out and celebrate in preparing to welcome our newest CFS family members!
Melissa snapped pictures at both showers on Saturday and Sunday. You can check them out here: http://gallery.me.com/melissawistrom . Thanks, Seabiscuit!

Had so much fun this weekend with my Crossfit Springfield family! Thanks so much for opening up your house for all of us Grant and Melissa!

That video brought tears to my eyes. Thanks, Jeremy. As for this weekend, Grant and Melissa–thank you so much for opening your home to all of us. What a great day. Who is capable of pulling off two phenomenal baby showers in one weekend? Only Seabiscuit, that’s who.
Jess, Ashley, B, and Shanna–so happy for all of you. How blessed we are to have such a close-knit, loving, and ever-expanding CFS family. Love you guys.

Brian and Shanna, so sorry to have missed your shower today. Turns out it just wasn’t in the cards.
Grant and Melissa, thanks so much again for hosting yesterday. We had such a great time – you’re the perfect gracious hosts (even when people’s husbands drop beer bottles on your pool patio…ahem…sorry about that..) and your home is lovely. And to the whole Crossfit Springfield family: YOU GUYS KNOW HOW TO MAKE A PARTY. Love you guys to pieces!

Bummed I wasn’t able to make the baby shower pool party, sounds and looks (thanks for the pics) like it was a great time! I did get to watch Brian in a big pregger’s suit doing the Jaxx WOD, and I must say Shanna you did it with much more grace:) Jessie, Shanna and Ashley you ladies are amazing!
12:30rx, nice short WOD today!

14 min and change with 95#. Not a big fan of the bastard sit-up.

18:48 Rx. I liked that one! Nice to hit the gym after all that home brew this weekend. Hmm…

Hooray for the advanced wod today!! I got a muscle up…with Zach spotting me
It was great to be given the time to work solely on a single movement, especially with so many knowledgeable peeps around to help. Thanks to Jake, Zach, and Jeremy for helping a sistah out.
As for the actual wod… 9-7-5 rounds for time of hang squat snatch 135/95 and muscle ups. 14:56–not in any way Rx’d. Fun!

18:46 “r” freaking “x!”
Meg – great job on the muscle ups!
Posted on July 26th, 2010 at 2:33 pm
Meggin – Congrats on the muscle up. Completely and totally AWESOME achievement!!

Thanks guys! Again, Zach was spotting me, so not entirely on my own yet. I’ll get there!
Posted on July 26th, 2010 at 3:05 pm
Meg, you were AWESOME today on those muscle ups!! Yeah, Zach spotted you, but it wasn’t much. All your hard work on those is really showing. So proud of you. And Shannon, you were amazing too! Mine, on the other hand, need WORK.
Definitely at the top of my list. I did do the advanced WOD today, but not really for time. Put it this way…the vacuum cleaner was moving faster than me and I was nowhere near rx’ing it, but it was a good day to focus on ring dip and squat snatch form.

Hello you guys!!!!Great day at the box! I am wiped after this weekend! Cannot thank you all enough for such a great weekend! Grant and Biscuit…I love you more than you know! Thank you for letting us get crazy!
As for the rest of ya…above and beyond. Thank you so much for EVERYTHING! Just can’t thank you enough for your support! Gaines thanks you too. We were just going to put him in a shoe box for awhile with some stuffing like you do with a new kitten. I think we are now completely and totally outfitted to the max. Now what the h$%% do we do?
A big thank you to those of you who actually took me seriously when I said I was registered at Brown Derby. I am already planning how to spend that gift card
Thank you is not enough. You guys are OSM.

Congrats Meggin, big step in the right direction.
Today is a tough day. My oldest, Tanner (18) lost a friend last night. Austin Edwards died last night. He was to be a senior and fellow football team mate of Tanners again this year at Nixa. It is and will be a very tough experience for him and the rest of the friends and family of Austin’s. A reminder that every day of life is precious and death is certain… do your best to be prepared.
So, I will take this opportunity to say to all of you that I am very appreciative to be able to be a part of the family of Crossfit-Springfield. The people here make the difference.
And on a very serious note… I WILL beat you again someday Ollis
!!!
Peace out…

HEY GUYS… If you have been having trouble signing up for tomorrow’s 9:15 row, it’s because I am a ding dong. The problem on MIndBody has been fixed and you should have no trouble now! SORRY!
Posted on July 26th, 2010 at 6:46 pm
Chance, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your son’s friend. Terribly tragic. He’s lucky he’s got great parents to lean on right now. We will be thinking about you guys and we’ll keep Austin’s family in our prayers.
I got totally conned into doing this wod at 6. Tons of arm twisting and pinching and yelling. I would like the record to show that it was completely under duress.
Or not. 9:50 rx. Really fun, actually! Very glad I did it. Molls, you powered through like a champ! You never quit. Sumos – watch out (insert WWF elbow punch here). And Robin, I LOVED the look on your face during those last five SDHP reps! Way to get mean on ‘em!

15:19 RX, loved this WOD!!
Posted on July 26th, 2010 at 7:32 pm
Chance, your family and the Edward’s family will be in my prayers.
Humbling WOD. Still a member of the “jacked up back” club, so I did hang sumo’s (that’s not actually what they’re called I don’t think, but I can’t remember what Darryl called them) with the 45lb bar. I actually challenged my sister on this one, thinking that I could at least tie her, with no weight on my bar and an “easier lift.” 14:40 — needless to say, she still killed me. Highly modified, this one was still a bit rough for me. H-U-M-B-L-I-N-G. Thank you, Crossfit.

Great video and pics – thanks from the Weenies in the Basement.
