W.O.D Tuesday 2/2/10
February CrossFit Springfield Athlete Spotlight: George and Joey Hay
Perform the following tasks in any order- resting 3-5min. between each task:
Row 500m for time.
Hold a Wall Handstand as long as possible.
30 Turkish Get Ups for time (15R/15L) 16kg=35lb males; 12kg=25lb females.
30 Cartwheels for time.
Post task times to Comments. Compare times to 7/23/09.
Ode to “The Alley” at the old CrossFit Springfield box!!!
3..2..1..GROW!!!: As CrossFit Springfield continues to grow, we want to make sure we offer plenty of available WOD times so as to leave you no excuse to not find time to get your butt in here, get sweaty, and possibly feel vomitous…SO…BEGINNING MARCH 1st, 2010 WE WILL BE ADDING THE FOLLOWING GROUP WOD TIMES TO OUR SCHEDULE:

Many of you have asked about us doing a second CFS hoody order. There has also been some interest in getting both CrossFit Springfield SPRAWL fight shorts and CrossFit Springfield women’s yoga/workout pants made…SO…Beginning tomorrow afternoon, we’ll have sign up sheets for available for all three items. We will place our order on Monday, February 15th. Be sure to sign up and pay no later than Saturday, February 13th if you want in!!!

Warm up, long jump burpees across room and back, 10 phylo insanity burpees
5 strong fast pulls- 5 avg
10 —- 10 avg
5—- 5 avg
15—- 10
20—-20
5—–5
reverse order, but only put 5 avg between each set of strength pulls
3000 meter row for time.
5 phylo insanity burpees

So I completed this WOD today in Iraq RX but I did have an Anthrax shot today in the arm so it felt a little stiff on the Wall Handstand.
Row 500m-2:08
Wall handstand- :54
Turkish Get Ups- 2:48
Cartwheels- 1:54 and a lot of dizziness!!!

This was unbelievably fun! Well, not so much the Turkish get ups. Or the rowing.;) Cartwheels were a blast of dizziness, and I almost kicked Jen C and Ollis on more than one occasion. I have no clue what my times were, but props to my partner Lily, who kicked my butt on pretty much everything!

What a fun workout! Yesterdays w.o.d. I loathed but today I had a blast. Cartwheels are so much fun. Everyone had a positive attitude and the energy was high! Thanks, MEL!

1 minute hand stand, 1:45 row, 6:2X TGU, 2 minutes cartwheels. That was great!

My head is still spinning. 1:41 row, 49 sec HS, 10:? on TGU RX weight, and 6:30ish on whatever attempt of cartwheels I could do. I was attempting to have both hands on the ground, under my head with two feet off of the ground. Whatever! Good nooner today. Hey Canyon, I thought the bachelor party was Friday the 5th?

I agree Meggin, TGU’s and rowing, augh.. The others were a blast! I’ve not done a handstand (other than trying a handstand pushup, NOT Happening) or a cartwheel in years! Fun WOD to watch:) The pictures ought to be interesting…. Great noon crew…

I was in fear of the handstand today–but managed to hold on for 1 minute flat. First time rx’d TGUs–in 12:23. Row 2:10. Didn’t time the cartwheels. This one was a blast. Fun partnering with you, Ang!

i love this wod!! 2:33 rowing, 8 minutes on tgu’s, 70 seconds on the handstand and 1:36 on cartwheels, knew i could nail the cartwheels with time but forgot about the dizzy! had to hold myself up against the wall
i had to come to this one, first time i did it it was soo funny! awesome noon class, see you tomorrow

I also love this wod! I managed 90 seconds on the handstand (thanks for cheering me on, angie), 2:01 on the row, 2:03 on the cartwheels, and 6:13 on the tgu’s, rx (yay). Let’s do this one again soon!
